When germs are left to colonise a surface they form what is know as a biofilm. This is made up of the millions of germs within the colony plus their secretions. Mucky Pups coats this biofilm and stops reproduction in the colony. As the colony becomes older it becomes more susceptible to the biocidal technology within Mucky Pups which ultimately enters the cells and destroys it.
